Kickstarter in November!

3 to 1 Scale Resin Models! Help Us bring ‘Em Back!

That’s right, we are 100% serious, we have a resin caster, we have masters, and we’re gonna light this candle next month on Kickstarter!

We will begin our Kickstarter campaign on the third week in November after the good Dr. Greaves and his lovely spouse return from a trip overseas to lands ancient and historical. Upon his return we hit the launch button, and we’re off!

We have recovered masters of virtually all of the Core Ships, and we have all of the Night Brood ships, *and* we have masters for a whole bunch of extras, from gunboats to many of the Colosian, Tokugawan, and Draconian ships introduced in House Colos and Hangar 51. Further, we plan a penultimate Stretch Goal, a 3 to 1-sh model of the Fletcher class destroyer. Yes, an 8 inch long monster to provide a truly terrifying presence in your Silent Death games being mastered by veteran designer Chris Lunch of Ravenstar Studio!

So watch this space, and we encourage you to like us on FaceBook, and follow us on Instagram for further updates!

Cheers!

The Metal Express Team

3 to 1 scale Revenge in House Colos livery.
3 to 1 Seraph in House Red Star colors.
3 to 1 scale Kosmos SPACs in House Tokugawa Reserve Fleet service.
3 to 1 scale Star Raven class gunboat aka MPAC in Sigurd Archdiocese colors.
3 to 1 scale Dart class SPAC in the colors of a typical local militia flight in the Unkulunkulu Archipelago. Unkulu ships tend to be highly personalized by their fiercely independently minded pilots.

Greetings, fan for years…still have my original box. How can I ensure that I’m notified via email when your Kickstarter rolls out?

@Pedro Benitez register with our Forum community and PM Admin Callsign: KarelianSuomi your email address. I’ll be compiling an email list of interested parties for precisely this purpose.

    Thanks for checking in! 🙂

can’t await this guys, one question; will these minis be metal or plasti?, I’m hoping plastic!!!

  4. Lee Erickson November 10, 2019 at 3:40 am

@c nelson these are resin, and they are for the most part one piece castings no less(!). And mini is a relative description here, as the Dart above is resting on a standard 1 inch flight stand, so these models would never be practical in metal, and plastic tooling would be prohibitively expensive for us at present. Of course, this hasn’t stopped us from dreaming, mind you, but for now we’re working with the “low hanging fruit” we have within reach, and we’re going to keep workming our way up from there. 🙂

Are those a handmade plane ? what is the material of it ? regards

    • Lee Erickson January 11, 2020 at 12:50 am

@Riani, they are science fiction spacecraft for the tabletop game Silent Death. They are made of cast resin.

is this still going to happen

    • Leland R. Erickson June 8, 2021 at 8:00 am

You betcha it is! See my response below to Terry. Yes, this is going to happen, plus a few other surprises we’re working on.

What is the status with the kickstarter and why is there no link to it here? We’ve got investors lined up.

    • Leland R. Erickson June 8, 2021 at 7:59 am

Yes, this is going to happen. We’ve run into what Carl von Clausewitz called “friction,” but we’re still proceeding as soon as humanly possible. Ideally in two weeks. Worst case unless there’s a major issue with our caster, end of this month.

Meanwhile, I’m busy painting up a second pre-production Fletcher model that’s been modified to represent the Fletcher QVP. Stay tuned for photos and a progress report!
